What is Equine Osteopathy?
Equine Osteopathy has been adapted from human osteopathic principles modified to the anatomy and physiology of the horse. It is the assessment of the parietal (skeleton), visceral (organs), and CranioSacral (brain and surrounding tissue) systems and how they work together as a whole unit. In the case of obstruction on any level, vital force becomes weak, creating decreased resistance to disease. That is defined as a terrain.
Through hands on manual manipulation, mobility can be restored, allowing the body the opportunity to heal itself and stay in homeostasis.
